Lady Vereker helped found Britain’s leading theatre for children, Polka Theatre, where she worked for more than 20 years. She has received several awards for creating innovative business partnerships in support of the performing arts. She lived in Bermuda with her husband John, who served as Governor 2002–07, and she continues to be involved in a number of Bermudian organisations focused on the arts and environment. She currently is a Trustee of the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences (BIOS) and Honorary Patron of the Bermuda Audubon Society. In the UK, she is Patron of Polka Theatre, Trustee of Classical Opera, Trustee of UK Associates of BIOS, and Honorary Patron of BirdLife International.
