Robert was chair of the Society for a decade and today serves as President. He is the former Chairman of Hiscox, and Deputy Chairman of Lloyd’s of London. He joined Hiscox in 1986, serving as active underwriter of the Hiscox Lloyd’s Syndicate 33 1993–2005, and was chief underwriting officer until 2013. Robert joined the Council of Lloyd’s in 2012, and was chairman of the Lloyd’s Market Association 2003–05. He is a Trustee of Enham (a charity for the disabled) and former chairman of the Advisory Board of the School of Management of Royal Holloway University of London.
